      • Need estimator – calculates costs of college based on school choice and previous years income taxes. Financial Needs Estimator

      Parent and student should do this in Jan/Feb of senior year after taxes are completed.

      Career College Planning Tasks – list tasks completed in curriculum and suggestions for parents

      • Elem- Ex:  Child to work, give students responsibility for tasks at home
      • Jr High -  Social Skill Development, Work ethics, Being Responsible and accountable
      • Grade 9 – Explore Testing – review results
      • Grade 10 – PLAN Testing – results review- career investigation on web
      • Grade 11 – ACT, College Research, College Visits, Internships
      • Grade 12 – ACT retake if necessary, College Application, Financial aid application

      ACT Test – this test is necessary for students that are planning to attend 4-year college. The general recommendation is for students to take the test during April or June test dates in their Junior year.  This test is given at Willmar Senior High School on Saturdays mornings from 8-12.  Some colleges may require an additional Writing test.

      You can register at www.actstudent.org five weeks prior to the test date.  Test will be given on April 9 and June 11.  The cost is $33 for the ACT Test and an additional $15 for the Writing test.  You will need a credit card to register. CCS High School Code – 242-694
