SCRIP is a unique fundraising program that can help reduce the cost of tuition for individual families at CCS, as well as benefit the school.  There is NO COST to the individual or the school.  SCRIP is a term that means, “substitute money”.  When you purchase SCRIP, you’re purchasing gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash.  You can use SCRIP to purchase everyday expenses such as food, clothing, and other essentials.  With every purchase, you not only receive the full face value of your purchase, you also earn money for your child’s lunch account* and for CCS. 

How does it work?
     You’re probably wondering how this works.  It’s a simple concept—SCRIP participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount.  Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as lunch account* credits.  The best part is that everybody wins:  The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business, you get a great fundraiser that involves NO SELLING, the school receives money to keep tuition down. 
Enclosed you will find a listing of some of the businesses that participate in the SCRIP program.  (For a complete listing, go to www.shopwithscrip.com)  These businesses sell gift cards/certificates at the dollar amount listed.  The percentage is the amount of savings the school receives when purchasing a gift card.  The person ordering receives lunch account* credit for ¾ of the full percentage, and CCS keeps ¼ of the percentage.  The individual’s credit is held in a personal SCRIP account until payouts, which happens quarterly, when the credit is applied to current lunch accounts*.

You will receive the full amount of the certificates you order PLUS the lunch account* credit (payable quarterly).  So basically, you receive FREE MONEY!

What businesses participate in the SCRIP program?
    On the order form, we provide a short list of businesses that participate, the type of certificates they offer, and their discounts.  However, this is far from all the retailers available.  For a complete list of retailers and their current discounts, go to www.shopwithscrip.com.  While you are there, please enroll on the web-site—we are managing the program on-line and even if you don’t plan on ordering on-line, it would help us if you created your own account on the web-site.  The CCS Enrollment code is 49D283791437.  At this time, we do not offer Presto Pay, so you do not need to give out any financial information.

Who can participate in SCRIP?
    SCRIP is available to anyone wanting to reduce lunch account* expenses or to help the school.  You don’t need to have a child attending CCS to participate.  CCS parents are strongly encouraged to use the SCRIP program, but alumni, relatives, friends, and neighbors can also use it.  You may set up an account with SCRIP and designate who receives the funds.  You can divide between families, apply it to the lunch account* of a CCS family, use all of it for your own children, give the whole amount to CCS, etc.  You control where your money goes.

When can I open an account?
    Anyone can open an account at any time, simply by filling out a SCRIP Sign Up Form (available in the CCS Office).  It would also help if you enrolled on the www.shopwithscrip.com website.  The CCS enrollment code is 49D283791437.  You do not need to give out any private information.

When are orders placed and how soon do I get my certificates?
    Orders are placed every other Monday during the school year and monthly during the summer.  Order form, with payment, must be received by 8:30 am on Monday and will be available on Friday afternoon of the same week.  Please make checks payable to CCS.  The next order dates are 10/20, 11/3, 11/17.  We also keep a limited number of retailers on hand in the office.  These cards are available for purchase any time during the week and are on a first come basis.  For a complete list of those retailers, please stop by the office.

How do I place an order?
    Orders may be dropped off at the school during school hours or can be placed on-line at www.shopwithscrip.com.  To place an order on-line you first need to enroll on the website.  CCS’ enrollment code is 49D283791437.  We do not offer Presto Pay at this time, so you would still need to send a check for your purchase to the school prior to the time we place the order on Monday.  We manage all the orders on-line, so even if you don’t want to place your order on-line, it would be beneficial if you enrolled anyway.  If you don’t, we will create a proxy account for you.  There will be no personal information disclosed.

Why SCRIP?
    SCRIP is a great fundraiser.  All families who participate get their lunch expenses* reduced.  All of this can be accomplished by purchasing certificates for things you would buy anyway and without having to sell things to family and friends!

Are you looking for ways to get your expenses at CCS down?  We have some great opportunities for you to do just that.  Please read over the following list and start participating.  You will be glad you did.

All credits are split between the families and the school.  The families get 75% and the school gets 25%.

Cash Wise (2%)
- For every $100 in certificates you buy you get $1.50 off your tuition and
 the school gets $.50.
-The certificates come in $25 and $100 denominations.

Cub (3%)
-For every $100 in certificates you buy you get $2.25 off your tuition and the school gets $.75.
- The certificates come in $25 and $100 denominations.

Wal-Mart (2%)
-For every $100 in certificates you buy you get $1.50 off your tuition and the school gets $.50.
-The certificates come in $25 and $100 denominations.

 Walt’s (3%)
- For every $100 in certificates you buy you get $3.00 off your tuition and the school gets $1.00.
- The certificates come in $25, $50, $100, and $500 denominations.  Larger denominations may be ordered.

SCRIP
- These all vary in the percentage we receive.  They include savings with restaurants, gas stations, airlines, hotels, specialty stores, clothing and much more.  For example, Marriott Hotels=12% discount.  For every $100 certificate we get $12.00, of the $12, the family receives $9.00 off their tuition and the school receives $3.00.  You can come to the school for a list of retailers or go to www.glscrip.com.

- Several local retailer’s SCRIP cards are kept on hand at CCS including:
Applebee’s, Arby’s, Bath and Body, Best Buy, Burger King, Claire’s, Dunham’s Sports, Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy, Herberger’s, Home Depot, iTunes, JC Penney’s, Jimmy’s Pizza, JoAnn Fabrics, KFC, Kohl’s, Menard’s, Office Max, Olive Garden/Red Lobster, Payless Shoes, Pizza Hut, Subway, Wal-Mart and more. 
Percentages earned on these vary from 2% to 17% and more during “bonus discount” times.  
                       
Magazine Sales
- Magazine sales begin in October of each year.  28% of your sales will go directly to your expenses at CCS.  10% will go to the school.  Tell friends, family and neighbors to wait for our sale since Willmar schools begin before CCS’!!!

Calendar Sales
- Maracom donates calendars each year to CCS.  You sell them for $5.00.  $2.50 goes to the school and $2.50 goes directly to your tuition account.  So, if you sell 25 calendars $62.50 would go your account and $62.50 would go to CCS.
